2023 – ReBalance 7 – Focus

 

JULY 1 2023: I am now 2279 Days (approximately: 6 Years, 2 Month, 0 Weeks – LINK) and, yes, I am still holding the workout streak down.  I am still struggling to keep this portion of the log up, but I will not give up on myself.  I just need to keep plugging away at it.  I promised last month to strip away much of the writing and just make it to the point, but that is still proving somewhat difficult.

I am now gonna just write this log in retrospective.  I think everything here should capture what happened during July, as opposed to what just happened in June.  Therefore, I will write what happened during July on 31 July or 1 August.  This means I have to collect snippets over the month.

Physical – I continue to make progress on the physical front.  No big changes from last month.  I have implemented, with some prodding two programs to help with my tracking.  I am now using the HEVY app to track my workout.  It works quite well because it allows me to build my workout once and then just use it quite easily during my actual workout.  I am also now using my MyfitnessPal app to track my macros.  This has really given me some insights on what I am putting into my body and that is a really big plus.  My body is feeling a bit worn to be honest, especially my right side.  My right shoulder is still and issue, but now I have having a bit of discomfort in my upper right chest area.  It came on after a chest session.  I think I make my stretch the muscle a bit too much.  The back is still there, but I am managing.  Sleep was a bit up and down, but I was able to pull it back in near the end.

Financials –  It appears the dreaded recession is not gonna come into being, as we anticipate; instead, we are gonna have a soft if not delicate landing from the inflation we have been experiencing.  Portfolio is loving this period, as we see Meta, Apple, Google and Amazon, making big strides in recent weeks.  Apple and Meta has been on a tear.  Tesla has also come back around as well.   Crypto remains on the back burner.

Socio/Political – Things have been somewhat quiet on the local front.  Statewide, however, the idea governor is still pushing his dumb ass anti-black agenda.  I try to stay away for consuming much of it.

World:
Russia -Ukraine – war is still in full swing.  Ukraine has started a counteroffensive which has been a slog.  The Russian pulled out of a grains shipment deal and has started attacking Ukrainian ports in the black sea.  This is pushing some parts of the world, especially Africa, as they rely on much of the grain coming from this region.  The entire world has been going through the crucible over the last month, with temperature hitting historic highs.

Goals:
Spanish –  Still maintaining my daily streak, but with little progress.  I hope to report better new on this next month.

DareBee
Still have not missed a day of Daily Dare.  My focus continues to be lifting and getting stronger.  I think next year, I will be adding more focus on flexibility.

(Kept from previous foreword) – Additionally, I have added a couple layers of complexity or demand to my workout.  First, I am religiously sticking to DareBee and the Daily Dare; I am also, keeping the preliminaries.  Second, I have added a consecutive component – so, starting with the end of IronBorn (9 April 2017), I have worked consecutively.  I intend to push for 60 straight day, then see if I can get to 90.  So far I am enjoying it and my body seems to be rising to the occasion.  I caught the flu a few day before the end of the last phase (around May 2017) – I worked through it and was back up in only a couple of days.  It appears pushing through and forcing my body to continue working, I was able to push the flu out of my way.  I am also continuing my virtual push to OKC via Benton.  I am really enjoying that but I will have to pick up the mileage here in the next phase as I am running out of time. Keep leaning forward.
