2021 – HeartJourney 2 – SPELLBOUND

 February 2021: I am now 1399 Days anI just realized that I am counting 1 day ahead but what the heck I really doesn’t matter.  I have not missed a day in almost 46 months or 4 years.  I have been plugging away at it just doing my thing in my little corner of the globe.  I feel personal proudness and have grown considerably in that time.   At this point I feel as though nothing can stop me from achieving my aims.  I promise to continue taking care of my body each day as long as I am capable and I have breath. 

Should be getting results from UF and FSU this month.  I think it is around the 26.  Don’t want to jinx anything but I feel relatively sure about these considering grades and scores.  It will still be a relatively tough slog for all, but the hope is that this is a no-brainer, as the pressure will definitely go up if it is not.

The ivies have pushed back their dates by a week, I believe.  We haven’t heard anything from Duke and UVA.  Georgia Tech is asking about financial aid information, so that seems as though, some progress might be going along that line, but can’t be too sure.   

The month of January was still a bit weird.  We had an attack on the capitol by the Trumpists – needless to say it failed.  We are now in sort  of a nether space.  It just feels like an evil cloud hangs over the country.  We are making some progress but it just feels as though we will have to fight for every inch for our survival from this dark force.  We thought after Trump left his followers would fade, but they are putting up a fight – not sure why, but they are.  It essentially is the grasping of a long lived monster and we have to really push it over the edge.

COVID, no doubt, continues to be the main topic of the day.  The Biden administration is pushing on all fronts, but the problem is so large still threatens to overwhelm us.  We have two and possibly three vaccines, but the distribution and injection process is just not optimized as yet and lots of folks are dying.  To make things worse, we now have 3 variants (UK, South Africa and Brazilian).   We have instituted additional measure across the Federal Govt to cut transmission, but our people as just so stubborn, lots are not following.

My family continue to shelter in place the best we can.  Hopefully this will break soon and I will have better news to report.

Darebee remains a staple in my daily fitness diet.  I have pulled back quite a bit on the running.  I run twice per week, but I have to press last week because I was about to miss my monthly Garmin target of 50mi.  I think I will have to either increase my distance each week or just make a dash on a certain week of the month.  I continue to follow the Pete’s Plan for rowing.  I am now in week 10 of 21 I believe.  I have made tremendous gains with the system.  The problem is that I need to pipe down a bit.  For whatever reason, I tend to push every single time I hit the erg.  At any rate, I will just have to continue working at it. 

(Kept from previous foreword) – Additionally, I have added a couple layers of complexity or demand to my workout.  First, I am religiously sticking to DareBee and the Daily Dare; I am also, keeping the preliminaries.  Second, I have added a consecutive component – so, starting with the end of IronBorn (9 April 2017), I have worked consecutively.  I intend to push for 60 straight day, then see if I can get to 90.  So far I am enjoying it and my body seems to be rising to the occasion.  I caught the flu a few day before the end of the last phase (around May 2017) – I worked through it and was back up in only a couple of days.  It appears pushing through and forcing my body to continue working, I was able to push the flu out of my way.  I am also continuing my virtual push to OKC via Benton.  I am really enjoying that but I will have to pick up the mileage here in the next phase as I am running out of time. Keep leaning forward.

Summary: Today was a marvelous workout day.  I did my first consistent sub 2.0 split.  The biathlon felt easy.  My body feels great.

Summary: Pretty early workout here today.  It is now 1424 and I am ready for my biathlon.  I hope to have a near repeat of yesterday.

Summary: Pretty cold day, especially for the biathlon, but I feel good with only a few aches that rest should be able to solve.

Summary: Good workout day today.  Nothing special  besides I realize that I went back earlier than I had to.  Good biathlon though.

Summary: First day of February feels good.  I just need to get my rowing on.  I think I will also put in a 1.5mi run as well and make it daily.
