2021 – HeartJourney 4 – REBOOT

April 2021: I am now 1458 Days and still have not missed a day of workout

The game goes on.  I writing this at the end of the first week in April and many things have changed.  Results are all now in and it appears that we are settled on attending UF.  We made the visit out to FSU on the 1st and the campus was just beautiful.  I think UF will do it just base on shear reputation.  It is also relatively close to us and given the pandemic that seems to be slightly under control, that might workout for the best.

Not a great deal to put here this month beyond the fact that we are coming to the end of the school year and look toward a major transition.  We are looking at an empty nest and what that all entails.   

On the political scene, Trump is crackling some, but nothing really is going on or appears to be going on from his corner – the right writ larger is on ice except for the states run by them.  They are frothing up a storm trying to make a stand.   

While COVID, continues it long slog and is still the a big part of daily discussion, other areas are creeping in – economy, world dynamics, etc.  The Biden administration continues to push on all fronts and we are starting to see progress.  We are now vaccinating millions per day and by the 19th everyone in the country will be eligible to get a vaccine.  Incidentally, that is the date, I will be getting my second shot. 

No change really with my family sheltering in place the best we can.  We will continue to be vigilant and hopefully can re-engage in full life soon.

Darebee remains a staple in my daily fitness diet.  With the modification I have made this year, I am feeling pretty good.  Alternating run/walk has really been great because it allow me to rest by lowering the intensity but still remaining active.   I continue to follow the Pete’s Plan for rowing. mAs of today I am on my second day of my 19th week and thing are going quite well.   I continue to make tremendous gains with the system.  

(Kept from previous foreword) – Additionally, I have added a couple layers of complexity or demand to my workout.  First, I am religiously sticking to DareBee and the Daily Dare; I am also, keeping the preliminaries.  Second, I have added a consecutive component – so, starting with the end of IronBorn (9 April 2017), I have worked consecutively.  I intend to push for 60 straight day, then see if I can get to 90.  So far I am enjoying it and my body seems to be rising to the occasion.  I caught the flu a few day before the end of the last phase (around May 2017) – I worked through it and was back up in only a couple of days.  It appears pushing through and forcing my body to continue working, I was able to push the flu out of my way.  I am also continuing my virtual push to OKC via Benton.  I am really enjoying that but I will have to pick up the mileage here in the next phase as I am running out of time. Keep leaning forward.
