2022 – Balance 6 – WOD 10 (LEVEL 5)

JUNE 1 2022: I am now 1883 Days (approximately: 5 Years, 1 Month, 3 Weeks – LINK) and still I have not missed a day of workout (periot).  I am feeling good overall; as I am writing this at 1232, I am having a slight ache in the mid part of my back to the left.  I am pretty sure it is from my sleeping orientation last night. 

Almost Mid-Year Analysis:  I know the end of June marks the middle of the year, but I wanted to get a jump on it; in other words I can’t wait.  Of the 4 personal things I gave myself at the top of the year  – Spanish, 100 page book, Crossfit 2-3x /week and NFT/Crypto, I have pretty much been poor at – almost pathetic.  I did a tiny bit of Spanish, I continue my workout stretch but nothing along the CF vein and while I have a crypto account at Coinbase, my participation has been paltry at best; that might just be serendipity smiling on me.  Additionally, my cardio numbers have not been up to task in the last few months and as a result, a little paunch is starting to take up residency.  And last, my sleep goal is seriously well below my 90% level.  Not getting at least 7 hours per night is not good and at least on 4-5 occassion so far this year, I have barely gotten 3 hours.  I remember at least a couple times I got none.

Now, to be fair, much of this had to do with the time on task down south, but at the end of the day, these are some of my primary tasks and need to be taken seriously.  I have to come through for myself here.  I have to maintain and so I will rededicate myself to making up the slack.   I hope to have some improvement by the midpoint of the year – 30days bud!

So a month out from Brandon and there is still much to do.  The problem that I am facing now is fighting the heat.  The sun has been inferno like in recent weeks and so between the pool and getting the front back on par, it has been just brutual.  I won’t push beyond limits – or better stated, I try not to push beyond limits, but it just hard.  I have made some progress in the back although I need to shop a pump right now and I have dusted off my lawnmower and have gotten my lawn (front) in relatively good looking shape.  Still have lots to do inside, starting with the garage, but this is a marathon – the garage is hot as hell. 

Yup, COVID is not going anywhere.  In fact, it is apparently on a rebound.  Just got my second booster a few days ago and feeling pretty ok.  It now appears China is mopping up the remains of a pretty significant bout and hopefully the world economy can improve with this new change. tion.

Russia remains bogged down in the Ukraine.  The situation looks stalemate-ish right now, with Ukraine still getting serious help from the EU and US, but I am not sure how long this will last.  The cost in life and treasure is just crazy.

Recent: In recently weeks a few very serious things have occurred – 1. Supreme Court leak indicates an overturn of Abortion Rights.  This is mostly likely gonna push the country into generational war to get that reversed, if that comes to fruition.  2.  A couple of weeks ago, a self proclaimed “white supremacist” travelled to Buffalo, NY and shot and killed 10 blacks, needless to say that it sent the country (especially us blacks) in to understandable rage. 3.  And to top all of that off, a week ago, a hispanic kid entered an elementary school and killed 19 kids and 2 teachers.  The issue here is the prevalence of guns with almost no controls.  This occurred in Texas. 

We are coming up on the midterms and the GOP has no friggin’ plan to improve or make positive change in our country.  Now, the Dems are pathetic too, don’t get me wrong.  But unlike the GOP, the vast majority of the party wants to move the country, but they are help back by un or non progressive, some whole even argue – anti-democratic forces within the party.  These are namely – Senema and Manchin.  We know they are not the only ones though.  We will just have to wait and see how all of this shake out in the coming months.

DareBee remains my ride or die and strong as ever.  I don’t get to the actual site much anymore – I do daily, but not in the way of participating.  There have been no new program additions lately, so I am working on WODs.  That’s ok, it keeps me busy.  My erg session have been at 2k over the last month since I got back from down south.  I think I am gonna add some 6k’s and 15mins on the treadmill, alternating with long walks and 2k’s on the erg.  I will have to figure out my on the road game.  It shouldn’t be that bad though.   

(Kept from previous foreword) – Additionally, I have added a couple layers of complexity or demand to my workout.  First, I am religiously sticking to DareBee and the Daily Dare; I am also, keeping the preliminaries.  Second, I have added a consecutive component – so, starting with the end of IronBorn (9 April 2017), I have worked consecutively.  I intend to push for 60 straight day, then see if I can get to 90.  So far I am enjoying it and my body seems to be rising to the occasion.  I caught the flu a few day before the end of the last phase (around May 2017) – I worked through it and was back up in only a couple of days.  It appears pushing through and forcing my body to continue working, I was able to push the flu out of my way.  I am also continuing my virtual push to OKC via Benton.  I am really enjoying that but I will have to pick up the mileage here in the next phase as I am running out of time. Keep leaning forward.
