2021 – HeartJourney 1 – THE GAUNTLET

 January 2021: I am now 1368 Days and still counting without a workout interruption and like I continue to state, it will continue as long as I have the means and wits about me to do it.

I am still experimenting with how to do my log.  Show I just do it in arrears or upfront.  For now, I will just go with it as it comes to me.  It is not such a big deal as long as I get what I want down.

So results from Harvard came it.  Not rejected but deferred.  That is not a bad thing.  At the very least it appears she has the goods to be considered, as opposed to being rejected.  The boy was deferred from MIT as well which, again, is sort of a compliment. 

The press was on to get the rest of the applications out, but we did.  Only have a couple that are done, but still need to go out.  Georgia Tech and Duke.

The month of December was kind of a Jekyll-Hyde thing.  There were a few days of bitter cold – like in the 30s and now it is 2JAN and it is in the 70s.  This is gonna mess up the lawn big time, because the crab grass is gonna just keep sprouting.

We continue the push to rid ourselves of the Trump louse and it cannot come any faster.

COVID continues to be the topic of the day.  The numbers remain in a dark place, but vaccines are now out, so hopefully we can get it out in time to stem the number of deaths that are occurring.

Darebee remains a staple in my daily fitness diet.  I am not at the point where I have to start playing favorites.  I have started rowing, so I think I will be doing 3 mile brisk walks as by rest days when I don’t row.  It is really harder than I think to just stop, so I will just take my time in making the decision and make it happen organically.   At any rate, Darbee is my forever love, so that remains. 

(Kept from previous foreword) – Additionally, I have added a couple layers of complexity or demand to my workout.  First, I am religiously sticking to DareBee and the Daily Dare; I am also, keeping the preliminaries.  Second, I have added a consecutive component – so, starting with the end of IronBorn (9 April 2017), I have worked consecutively.  I intend to push for 60 straight day, then see if I can get to 90.  So far I am enjoying it and my body seems to be rising to the occasion.  I caught the flu a few day before the end of the last phase (around May 2017) – I worked through it and was back up in only a couple of days.  It appears pushing through and forcing my body to continue working, I was able to push the flu out of my way.  I am also continuing my virtual push to OKC via Benton.  I am really enjoying that but I will have to pick up the mileage here in the next phase as I am running out of time. Keep leaning forward.

Summary: Good workout.  The Gauntlet is not easy.  The swing and awkwardness of the KB is much to handle. Nice 7.5k row today. Good stuff!
