2022 – Balance 4 – WOD 8 (LEVEL 5)

APRIL 1 2022: I am now 1823 Days (approximately: 4 Years, 11 months, 4 weeks and1 Day – LINK) and still have not missed a day of workout.  We are essentially in Spring right now and counting days to summer. I have spent most of the year thus far down south and it is even milder down here.  As I write these words, it is a couple of week into April and I am looking (sort of) getting back to a routine.  I have spent quite a bit working on my property and as much as I feel proud of what I have done, I know I could stay here doing this all year.

COVID is still with us.  In fact, another resurgence is on its way.  This is the post Omicron variant – B-something.  Hospitalization rates are down, however, so that means lots of folks are dispensing with precautions.  I am somewhat less strict, but I do maintain some level of prevention.  I don’t think this is going to be ending anytime soon.

The latest issue is the invasion of the Ukraine by Russia.  The number of deaths are reportedly pretty high on the Russian side – where the numbers been reported are in the tens of thousands and on the Ukrainian side in the thousands.  That’s military-wise.  Regarding civilians, the Russians are allegedly committing genocide in parts of Ukraine.  The war in going into the second month and the international community, except a few countries like China, Belarus and few others are totally against the Russians.

DareBee is still going strong.   I finished up the last introduced program that I had not completed, so I remain 100% completed on all the programs there.  For this month , I am just working the WODs and that is cool because you get a good variety to play with.  I am, however, missing my rowing erg.  I can’t wait to get back to that bad boy and put in to time with him. 

(Kept from previous foreword) – Additionally, I have added a couple layers of complexity or demand to my workout.  First, I am religiously sticking to DareBee and the Daily Dare; I am also, keeping the preliminaries.  Second, I have added a consecutive component – so, starting with the end of IronBorn (9 April 2017), I have worked consecutively.  I intend to push for 60 straight day, then see if I can get to 90.  So far I am enjoying it and my body seems to be rising to the occasion.  I caught the flu a few day before the end of the last phase (around May 2017) – I worked through it and was back up in only a couple of days.  It appears pushing through and forcing my body to continue working, I was able to push the flu out of my way.  I am also continuing my virtual push to OKC via Benton.  I am really enjoying that but I will have to pick up the mileage here in the next phase as I am running out of time. Keep leaning forward.
