2026: MeditationsOnMortality-4

April 1-30, 2026: I am now 3317 Days (approximately: 9 Years, 0 Month, 1 Days inclusive) on my workout streak (9APR2017).
Just to clarify (Sticky!): Over the period above, my workout streak refers to the fact that is that I have manage to do something physical each and everyday regardless of how I feel or where I am to maintain my fitness. I always do my Dailies and in addition - run, walk, row, cycle but usually run and walk, and depending on the day, I lift - upper body, lower body, or some type of hybrid. This is my long term program and I have been at it now religiously since around 2015, but in earnest since April-May of 2017.
I am writing these words on the 1st of May 2026. Yesterday, was a very important day in the life my daughter and by extension our family. She graduated from the University of Florida and I am just so extremely proud of her. A month ago I was celebrating my mom's success and today, I am my daughter's I am such a lucky person.
AREA 1:
Body:
**Routine (B+): Small Moves. I was able to get in a few morning walks, so I will take that. Just trying to move around my routine to eeek out some efficiency is proving pretty hard. I will take wahtever wins I can for now though and keep push and increasing that. On the times that I was able to make the change, I did get a lot back on the back end, so I just need to press.
**Physical Overall (B+)
- Injuries/Aches (B): I will keep it a B. The Left Pinky still remains in the background, but I feel as though the the Right Shoulder may have taken a bit of a backward move. I will continue to watch it. I have made some modifications, which I have discussed previously, but I need to continue with diligence. My Right Elbow has creeped b ack up on the stage and has really moved out front. I have had to canceled a few lifts due to too much pain. I gotten a new wrap for it and will be using them to address the issue. I have also pulled back a bit on overworking the triceps as well. I will just have to ramp it up slower than I have been. I think my dumbbell extensions might be the culprit, so I have removed those from my rotation. The fact is, I have been hitting the triceps quire hard in recent weeks and so the elbow is the indication of overwork. I am also having some issues with my Right Wrist as well. All of those might be related, so maybe it is time for a PT.
- Lifting (A-): I think I busted through a plateau this past month. For the first time, I have made PBs in all my major lifts. Bench, Squats and Deadlifts. I have also hit PBs in other areas as well. I am most surprised about my squat, because I have really been pretty cautious with my left knee, but with careful technique and patience, I am having some success. I continue to feel strong physically. As I wrote last month, I remain mindful that I have to be very careful here, not to push too far too fast and get seriously hurt.
**Tracked Metrics (B):
- Activities (A): All my numbers are where they need to be across the board. I did make some modifications to the calculations in the caloric burn, so I think it is more in line with what it needs to be. The pyramid scheme has really challenged me and I think I am the better for it.
- Sleep (C): I moved down to (C) for this month. I am just not putting together good sleep. My rest hours are down and my deep and REM are just not where they need to be. I think it has to do with mental strain and so I need to adjust that. I will be working on that bit more over the coming days and hopefully I can win some success.
**Supplements: No Change: 2x Berberine with meals, Psyllium Husk (fiber), multi-vitamins, B-complex and Magnesium, Lipo NR, Lipomizen , Curcumin, Creatine (10mg).
**Diet: No change: Continue steady state. Salad and chicken continue to drive the bus. My focus remains - (From a previous entry: The big focus this year once again is on A1c, kidney health, prostate health, cardio health, muscle gain and weight maintenance). I running out of Beet Root powder so I will have to get some more. I think I will have to acknowledge the fact I did not get rid of the batch from my last buy and not repeat it. I believe I have gotten some good results and if nothing else it is helping me to sweeten my coffee.
Biomarkers/Medical Check:
- Urology: NTR
- Sleep: Not altogether great numbers, but I am back on the Apnea Machine train for sure.
- Neurology: NTR.
- Labs: Need to get re-labs to test Crestor. Just don't like dealing with the current team that I have - from to front dest on, if I am being honest..
Spanish/Chess:
**Spanish (A-): My streak on Duolingo (1361 Day) 9AUG2022 and Drops (1133 Days). My Duo score remains 97 but I should be 98 in a couple of days. I continue to right the confidence train and feel as though I am making progress albeit small. This is large due to just doing self study, but I hope that this will be helpful when I get submerse in the culture. Chess continues to trend in the right direction as well.
**Reading/Listening: I manage to finished 2 book in March, and I am just about finishing up Phases by Brandy. I was really push for 3 but Marquez's - Love in the Time of Cholera was not just long, it was pretty good too. I am also having a great time with Brandy. Last month I mentioned - The Iliad with Emily Wilson translation, but I did not plug into that. I will see how it goes, I might take it up in the coming month, but it all depends. It requires a careful amount of time and so I have to prepare for it. We will see.

All of the issues that I talked about over the last few months remain suspended like bad atmosphere that won't dissipate - the Iran-US/Israel war no paused, Tariff, AI, Bitcoin, Russia-Ukraine, Inflation, oil prices and the list goes on. This past month was pretty awesome for us, in terms a rebound in our portfolio. (currently -4.04% YTD (~11.5%+ turnaround over last month) and 13.66% (1-month) (~17%+ turn around over the last month). as of 1.MAY.2026

US: Pam Bondi now out as Attorney General - what a waste; doesn't mean relieve is on the way.

DareBee
Still have not missed a day of Daily Dare - yup; not a one.
(Kept from previous foreword) - Additionally, I have added a couple layers of complexity or demand to my workout. First, I am religiously sticking to DareBee and the Daily Dare; I am also, keeping the preliminaries. Second, I have added a consecutive component - so, starting with the end of IronBorn (9 April 2017), I have worked consecutively. I intend to push for 60 straight day, then see if I can get to 90. So far I am enjoying it and my body seems to be rising to the occasion. I caught the flu a few day before the end of the last phase (around May 2017) - I worked through it and was back up in only a couple of days. It appears pushing through and forcing my body to continue working, I was able to push the flu out of my way. I am also continuing my virtual push to OKC via Benton. I am really enjoying that but I will have to pick up the mileage here in the next phase as I am running out of time. Keep leaning forward.
