On the Road: Jacksonville to Allentown

Okay, the lady I call mother, and someone I adore without limits, has been living in Allentown, Pennsylvania for sometime now, but I have never visited the place.  Partly because it is so darn far and out of the way, but mostly because I was always deployed and running around the world.  Now that I am more stable…well sort of (keep fingers crossed), I have no reason not to try and make it.  Truth be told, I would rather if she was back in warmer climes, but the choice is hers.

The awesome thing is, this will be first trip with my boy Marcus.  I have thought of trips such as these with him ever since he was a mere tot; this is almost like a dream come true.  We will be hanging out for a full week, traveling along the eastern seaboard up to Pennsylvania.  I will definitely try to make near daily updates here over the next few days to chronicle what things we do.  One of the biggie is going into New York City to Time Square, Central Park and Museum of Natural History.  Not sure if we will get to all of that, but we sure will try.  Wish us luck…yes?

Narrative: (Duration – 30min)
Oh yeah…first real workout after an extended hiatus. Had several injuries in the latter part of 2011; nothing serious, but annoying enough to keep me on the sideline a bit.  But now, I am ready to go back to war.  I am not gonna force anything.  I am just gonna ease myself back into it.  So I had a light intensity 30 minute cardio workout this afternoon.  Got up this morning and was all jazzed up to go, but I pushed it to the afternoon.

My Comments:
I consider myself pretty apolitical.  While fiscally conservative, I believe all things social should be left up to the individual, unless it infringes others enjoyment of their rights.  I thinks this video was well done and is quite a mark for the current president.  I do remember darker days…now things are indeed looking up a bit.  Scroll down to view his 17 minute video or click here
