R. Kelly: I Believe I Can Fly

R. Kelly: I Believe I Can Fly

As I stated before this song is my rock…one that I come to when I need a lift of spirit…I need it now.

Originally posted in July 2011: I think this is one of the most uplifting songs I know about.  It is definitely one of my favorite and one that I go back to time and time again when I am going through some really tough times (yes…I do have tough times too). I use it to help me regain a view on life that problems are temporary and only our spirits/consciousness endure forever.

Lyrics to I Believe I Can Fly:

[Verse 1:]
I used to think that I could not go on,
and life was nothing but an awful song;
but now I know the meaning of true love,
I’m leaning on the everlasting arm.

Managing your Feeling of Grief

Managing your Feeling of Grief

Key points

  • Grief is a normal and healthy reaction that occurs when you lose someone or something important. Although it is possible to delay or postpone grieving, it is not possible to avoid grieving altogether.
  • Grief will subside over time. However, the grieving process does not happen in a step-by-step or orderly fashion. Give yourself all the time you need to identify, accept, and express your emotions.
  • Your feelings are unique. Each person handles emotions and feelings differently. Find the way to deal with your emotions that fits you.
  • Support is important during the grieving process. Support comes in many forms, such as from friends and family, by participating in activities you enjoy, or through exercises to help you express your feelings, such as writing letters or keeping a journal.

Yo Te Voy A Amar – This I Promise You…

N-Sync is one of the most soulful boys groups coming out of the 1990s.  I really liked a lot of what they did back then, although it was tough when you have to measure up against the like of Boys to Men.  At any rate this is one of my all time favorite.  You will see that even if you don’t understand Spanish…the Spanish version of the song translate emotionally as well.

Sinead Oconnor – Nothing Compares to You

I first posted the below video last year at a time when I was feeling a bit nostalgic about the ’80s.  I truly believe that there are few things in life that are most important.  I believe that love is the most important and strongest emotion, feeling (call it whatever you want) in all of existence.  I believe if you have ever experience what it means to truly love and connect with other human beings, you cannot help experiencing sadness.  Because true sadness only comes when we are separated from the ones we TRULY love.  I can testify to this, because it has been  my existence…and something that I know quite well (spent several tours away from home in distant lands) .

I really feeling pretty nostalgic right now.  I ran across Sinead yesterday and pull this song up and listened to it about a million times.  It has so many deep meanings.  This song is one of the purest songs ever made.  Her eyes are absolutely honest…absolutely honest.

Body at War 2012: Day# 6 – Cardio

Narrative: (Duration – 53mins)
Day number 6; Today was the first time I have been back on the road in nearly 6 months. It felt ok, although a little strange. I did not go for too much, just a slow 4 miler. Body feels pretty good, although I am still a bit sluggish, as is to be expected after an extended layoff.  Kicked some push ups in between cycles to get the blood pumping.  Still focusing on getting the body back used to movement, will increase constant intensity over time.  Good livin’…just keep on movin’
