Retrospective Log:
August 1-31, 2025: I am now 3013 Days (approximately: 7 Years, 8 Month – LINK) and still maintaining my workout streak.
Just to clarify (Sticky!): My workout streak is that I do something active each day. I always do my Dailies and in addition – run, walk, but usually run and walk, and depending on the day, I lift – upper body, lower body, or some type of hybrid. This is my long term program and I have been at it now for several years.
So, I am writing this entry on the 2nd of September. My last full entry was back on June 7th and since then I have just been putting it off and so now, several months later, I am making another entry. I do daily entry in my Obsidian other brain, but that more personal day to day items, here, it more of a broad brush of what the month has been like across several domains. I think may be condensing things a bit might be the way to go. We see how October goes. as
AREA 1:
Body:
**Injuries/Aches (B-): I have had several reset over the last few months. First aches in one shoulder and then aches in the other, the constant ache in lower back (right). I then had a pectoralis strain, as I indicated in my previous entry here, but all in all, I am managing quite well. Over the last couple weeks, I have had my lower back tweaking me, but as I am writing this entry I am having an absolutely awesome day. The funny thing was up until I went into do lower body yesterday, the back was giving me a warm time. Got up today and I am doing fine. Hmmm…it could also be that I change bed last night. I will have to see how that goes. Bottomline, back in June I was having pectoralis issues – I stepped back and rebuild and I am feeling good again.
**Routine (C-): I am having peaks and valleys here, but I feel positive about it. I am not getting much real world stuff done, but I think I am making progress in that area. There is enough time in the day, I just have to be smart about it. I really need a good balance here. This is long term and so it just does not have to be sustainable it also has to be practical and sensible.
This area continues to improve. I am getting through my daily items but I am not getting to higher level items outside my routine, it is as though I don’t have enough time in the day. I will have to actively set aside and plan this out better. I have several projects that need my attention, not to mention places to go. I believe I had 1 PR this month but that is expected. I continue to rack up the 4 mile walks and I feel good about that and don’t want to loose that in my routine, as I think they are quite beneficial for me. My runs did not pickup as much as I anticipated, but we are heading into summer and it is hot as heck out there, although we have been getting quite a bit of rain as well. I also doing quite well, I think, in remaining fasted and pushing my body in that state a bit. I need to add HIIT a bit more, but so far it has been quite elusive, as a result, I think my VO2 Max and HRV are not at their best. I am still planning to get some measurement done at UF in the coming weeks. BP on average continues to track in the 120s/70s for the most part.
**Tracked Metrics (A-): I continue to do quite well overall. I am getting in my workouts, eating pretty well (this can always improve). Over the last 8 weeks I have managed to keep my numbers in the 90’s or above. My caloric burn time was 90% last month but I think I have become more efficient and so this is just a reflection. I might be wrong about that though. Sleep: I continue to struggle some here. I don’t feel that back about it though, I think I am understanding my body more and I just need to apply what I am learning. I have seen improvement already and I will continue to push this metric in the right direction.
**Supplements: I have added a couple new item – Lipomizen, Curcumin, and Lipo NR. The new additions are suppose to regulate cholesterol and inflamation. I hope to get some good news on my next CBC: 2x Berberine with meals, Psyllium Husk (fiber), multi-vitamins, B-complex and Magnesium, Lipo NR, Lipomizen, Curcumin.
**Diet: No real change in recent month – things are continuing at steady-state. I need to continue ensuring that I get in good protein, especially after gym session. My had subsided a bit in recent weeks, since I stepped up my cardio, but with treadmill under repair, I hope to pick it up later. I need to add back in my fasted run/climbed/speed walk. My focus remains – (From a previous entry: The big focus this year again is on A1c, kidney health, prostate health, cardio health, muscle gain and weight maintenance). I should be getting new blood work here at the start of October, I will be looking at A1C, Kidney, Liver, prostrate and cholesterol. My last lipid numbers were : Total Cholesterol – 213 and HDL – 135.
Goals:
**Spanish: My streak on Duolingo (1120 Day) 9AUG2022 and Drops (892 Days). I have completed Duolingo Level 5 (CEFR Early B1) and had worked through Section 6 Unit 6 , bu then they changed the tracker and now I am at Level 89 (High B1). I have weened myself of the gamified pull of the app for the most part and I genuinely feel as though I am making progress. My hope is to get to Early B2 by the end of the year. Drops is also coming along quite well, they made some updates that have been quite good for the platform, I think it supplements my Duo quite nicely. Simple Stories in Spanish has been a game changer but I have pulled back some from Rocket Language. I think I have enough on my plate right now, I will just come back to it. I also started using Anki, but it falls in the same space as Rocket.
**Reading/Listening: I had to change this area to Reading/Listening, because I have just gobble up a bunch of books over the last few month. I have also been using ChatGPT to help me with summaries of the the text. This way I can continue to refresh my memory of what I have read. GPT has been amazing. Honestly though, this is one of biggest successes of the year.

Financials:
Markets are not doing too bad for us. The stupid tariff has not really been all that was dooming earlier in the year. The YTD number of our portfolio has been off due to a hiccup in March. I will leave the last correct one in for formatting, however, our last month metric is correct. (currently -1.62% YTD; that is a gain of 7.8% over the last month from +3.6%.).
Socio/Political:
US: Trump is on his full blow megalomanic march to dictatorship. In recent days, however, he was dealt a couple legal setbacks.
US: Over the last few months, the Epstein case has come up with Trump involved. Texas has added congressional seats.
World 1: We have had an Iran by Israel, we have had the killing of senior Houthi official in Sanaa by Israel.
World 1: Israel-Hamas conflict continue. Israel is now on a full take over press into Gaza.
World 3: Ukraine-Russia war continues. Trump met with Putin a couple weeks ago – but predictably nothing came of it.

DareBee
Still have not missed a day of Daily Dare – yup; not a one.
(Kept from previous foreword) – Additionally, I have added a couple layers of complexity or demand to my workout. First, I am religiously sticking to DareBee and the Daily Dare; I am also, keeping the preliminaries. Second, I have added a consecutive component – so, starting with the end of IronBorn (9 April 2017), I have worked consecutively. I intend to push for 60 straight day, then see if I can get to 90. So far I am enjoying it and my body seems to be rising to the occasion. I caught the flu a few day before the end of the last phase (around May 2017) – I worked through it and was back up in only a couple of days. It appears pushing through and forcing my body to continue working, I was able to push the flu out of my way. I am also continuing my virtual push to OKC via Benton. I am really enjoying that but I will have to pick up the mileage here in the next phase as I am running out of time. Keep leaning forward.
