Baked Omelet Casserole

We have an egg-cellent way for you to start the morning. Feed your small army with this omelet that’s chock full of bacon, tomatoes, onion, mushrooms and cheese. If you’re a fan of omelets, this delicious dish is definitely for you.

Ingredients
10 eggs
1/3 cup milk
1/2 tsp. salt
4 dashes hot pepper sauce
1/2 lb. bacon – cooked, and chopped into bite-size pieces
1 (4 oz.) can black olives, drained
2 Roma (plum) tomatoes, chopped
1/4 cup green onions, chopped
1/3 cup mushrooms, sliced
3/4 cup Colby-Monterey Jack cheese, shredded

Methods/steps
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat an 8 in. square baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
In a large bowl, combine eggs and milk. With an electric mixer, beat until foamy. Blend in salt and hot pepper sauce. Stir in bacon, olives, tomatoes, green onions, mushrooms and cheese. Pour into prepared pan and cover with lid or aluminum foil. Bake in preheated oven for 40 to 50 minutes, or until eggs are set in the center.

Despite a shaky stock market and an uncertain future, Americans still prefer gourmet coffee over any other, according to a new study from the National Coffee Association. And from teenagers to senior citizens, most people still drink coffee daily.

This daily grind can get expensive, but it doesn’t have to be. Consumer Reports just released a taste test with the most popular coffee brands. They sampled more than 1,000 cups of joe and came to a startling conclusion: Walmart coffee is as good as Starbucks, and it’s better than Maxwell House and Folgers.

I recently started buying my coffee from Walmart, but now that it is confirmed that Starbucks is no better, I am sold.  Go ahead Walmart….go ahead.

Recipe: Aunt Claire’s East Bun Recipe

Ingredients

  • Baking Powder
  • All Purpose Flour
  • Salt
  • Butter
  • Eggs
  • Wine (dark color)
  • Nutmeg (ground)
  • Allspice (ground)
  • Cinnamon (ground)
  • Anise (ground)
  • lemon juice (or lemon)
  • Brown sugar
  • Vanilla
  • Cherries
    Amounts
    – 3 cups flour   |   2 cups sugar   |   cup wine   |   1 egg   |   1 tsp vanilla   |   2 tbsp butter   |   dash of salt   |   tspn lemon juice   |   4 tsp baking powder    |   1 tsp nutmeg   |   1 tsp cinnamon   |  1 tsp anise   |   1 tsp allspice

Instructions

  1. Sift together all dry ingredients, except sugar
  2. Mix separately: – whip egg, sugar; add vanilla; melt butter and add; add wine; add 2 tsp burnt sugar.
  3. Pour all into flour – Mix with wooden spoon until smooth consistency – Add 1 cup raisins
  1. Baking Instructions
    Pre-heat oven to 350 and bake for 1 hour. –
  2. When baked: take out and glaze with honey –
  3. Put back in for 5 mins
  4. After 15 mins cooling wrap in plastic
