2026: MeditationsOnMortality-1

January 1-31, 2026: I am now 3135 Days (approximately: 8 Years, 0 Month - LINK) and my workout streak remains intact.

Just to clarify (Sticky!): My workout streak is that I do something active each day.  I always do my Dailies and in addition - run, walk, row, cycle but usually run and walk, and depending on the day, I lift - upper body, lower body, or some type of hybrid.  This is my long term program and I have been at it now religiously since around 2016 in earnest.

I am writing these words on the 3rd of February 2026 and again I feel very blessed to enter the month of my birth doing this.  I cpntinue not to take anything for granted.

AREA 1:
Body:

    **Routine (B-): I will have to move down to a (-) .  I have been promising myself to get this tighter for some time now and here I am in a new year and still struggling to get it done.  Last month I said I need to be patient with myself but this is a bit exessive.  I would say that although the month of January had me on my heal due to a phelgmy cold, I was able to get some meaningful time in the gym and keep my cardio going.  I also need to take a hard look at my morning routine in particular because I need to get some home/house items done.

    **Injuries/Aches (B): I will keep it at B.  Pinky and right shoulder still a bit challenging, although it feel a bit less intense.  Also, the fact that I could not go as hard as I wanted, that has given a bit of reprieve to the finger and shoulder.  One item, however, got on the radar - my left groin.  While lifting during Week 3, I got a bit of a strain.  So far I can feel him nipping, but I won't know how much healing has been done until I get back in the gym.  I hope it does not get worse.

   **Physical (B+):  I will stay at a B+ because although I had some challenges, I was able to complete all my evolutions with very minor hiccups.  Conscious lifting continue to be my focus.  The left groin issue I could probably attribute to a momentary loss of focus.  My rest needs to get back up on point; this past month was not as good as I would have liked it.  I hope to change that in the coming weeks.

   **Tracked Metrics (B+):
- Activities (A-): Dalies are my lifeline each day and I am just so proud of meeting the mark without issues.  This year I am doing a pyramid approach going from 60 - 90 sets.  So far it is going good and I am getting quite a workout out of it.  This way I am not just arbitrarily increasing the number of reps but put some structure to it.

             - Sleep (C):  Remains in the (C) category, in fact I really should drop it down a minus.  At any rate, I nave to improve here.  My overall numbers I can live with but my sub-scores are just not good enough.  I don't want to obsess over it and then have that drive me into anxiety, but I must take steps to get better. 

   **Supplements: Things remain constant here: 2x Berberine with meals, Psyllium Husk (fiber), multi-vitamins, B-complex and Magnesium, Lipo NR, Lipomizen , Curcumin, Creatine (10mg).

   **Diet:  Continue steady state.  Salad and chicken continue to drive the bus.  My focus remains - (From a previous entry: The big focus this year once again is on A1c, kidney health, prostate health, cardio health, muscle gain and weight maintenance).   I think the addition of Beet Root powder to my morning coffee is paying off big time.  My BP has been awesome for quite sometime now.  I will continue to watch.

Biomarkers/Medical Check: 
- Urology: Got my PSA redone and my numbers are back down around 3.0 zone.  I will be meeting up with my Urologist later around mid February.
-  Sleep: I also completed my sleep study for sleep apnea and now has a new machine (which they foisted on me - the one I have I have barely used it).  I am still trying to figure out the mask situation.
- Neurology:  I completed my 1 year follow up with UFHealth, but since my last doctor is no longer there, I met up with a new guy.  He did a few tests, asked a few question (actually his intern did) and told me to come back in 6 months.  I will be a bit more discerning on my next visit.  I sort of dealt with this as a consultation - grip and grin. 

Goals:
  **Spanish (A-):  My streak on Duolingo (1258 Day) 9AUG2022 and Drops (1043 Days).  I am keeping my streaks going, at least strickly with Duo (I have missed a few with Drops).  Just a couple days ago I move to a Score of 95, so now I am just 4 scores from completing B1.  I was hoping to finish B1 by the end of the year but it did not happen.  I am hoping to do so soon.  I estimate I have a bout 25 exercises to get it done and I have picked up steam.  Also, my Chess has really improve - well, I am not sure if improved is the word, I would say that I am like it a bit more.

    **Reading/Listening:  Disappointingly I did not complete any reads this month - not even The Power of Regret.  I have, however, gotten an audio copy and hope to know it out among other in February as well.

Financials:
I suppose the world is tired of talking about tarriff now although the orange clown isn't.  Obamacare subsidies have now move to the back burner - as if they meant nothing.  The worthless Democrats are also playing along it seems.  The start of the year was a bit shaky but all the indices seem to be in good territory towards the end of the month.  Bitcoin on the other hand has not been doing so well.    (currently 1.76% YTD and +1.17% over the last month). as of 2.4.2026

Socio/Political:
US: The ICE rampage has led to the killing of 2 white protester in Minnesota. Admin is pulling back, but we will see (*)
US:  The Epstein case continues to simmer.  The Clintons have be supeanoed to testify.
US:  The Greenland bullshit threat has died down.
World 1: China - Xi is cleaning house and it appears he is stepping up effort to possibly move on Taiwan. 
World 1: Israel-Hamas - Apparently there is a ceasefire in effect but Israel still routinely bomb Gaza.
World 3: Ukraine-Russia war continues.   Same sh*t different day.  White people killing each other. No real update.

Still have not missed a day of Daily Dare - yup; not a one.

(Kept from previous foreword) - Additionally, I have added a couple layers of complexity or demand to my workout.  First, I am religiously sticking to DareBee and the Daily Dare; I am also, keeping the preliminaries.  Second, I have added a consecutive component - so, starting with the end of IronBorn (9 April 2017), I have worked consecutively.  I intend to push for 60 straight day, then see if I can get to 90.  So far I am enjoying it and my body seems to be rising to the occasion.  I caught the flu a few day before the end of the last phase (around May 2017) - I worked through it and was back up in only a couple of days.  It appears pushing through and forcing my body to continue working, I was able to push the flu out of my way.  I am also continuing my virtual push to OKC via Benton.  I am really enjoying that but I will have to pick up the mileage here in the next phase as I am running out of time. Keep leaning forward.
