2026: MeditationsOnMortality-2

February 1-28, 2026: I am now on a 3256 Days (approximately: 8 Years, 10 Month, 27 Days inclusive) streak (9APR2017) and I continue to amaze myself. I have maintained this streak without fail. I have manage to do something each and everyday regardless of how I feel or where I am.
Just to clarify (Sticky!): My workout streak is that I do something active each day. I always do my Dailies and in addition - run, walk, row, cycle but usually run and walk, and depending on the day, I lift - upper body, lower body, or some type of hybrid. This is my long term program and I have been at it now religiously since around 2015, but in earnest since April-May of 2017.
I am writing these words on the 1st of March 2026. I leaving the month of my birth, not sure if there is any significance to it but tomorrow is my birth mother's birthday. She will be 84. As I write these words I feel blessed and do not take anything for granted or at least I am trying not to.
AREA 1:
Body:
**Routine (B): I moved back up from the (-) . Upon reflection over the last few weeks, I have been able to get my workout done relatively early to facilitate other activities - whether or not I get those things done is another matter, but my routine is in fact making space for that. I got to all my gym sessions without issue and I was able to get things done. My morning routine seems to be coming along, since I have been working on my new sleep protocol.
**Injuries/Aches (B): I will keep it at B. The Pinky and Right Shoulder are still making their presence know, although the intense has not gone up in the last few months. I know the Pinky will take a bit of time, but it is hard not to reinjure each time in the gym because it is a part of my grip. I however, injured my left knee about 2 weeks ago - Mid-Feburary. I was able to get some squat work in since with really focusing on the proper form of the exercise. This tells me that I was being reckless when it happened. The left groin strain that I suffered has not really bothered me much in recent weeks. I can feel it from time to time, but I think with time and careful attention, I will be ok.
**Physical (B+): I will continue staying at a B+ again - I still have some challenges, but I think I am handling it ok. I mention last month that Conscious lifting continue to be my focus and the lack of focus was what resulted inthe groin incident. This month, it was not so much not being conscious that cause my left knee strain, It was that I was trying to implement a technique that resulted in too much force concentrated on the knee in a short period of time under explosive conditions. I must recognize that I am operating near the edge and so time mistakes can result in considerable damage. There is no room for mistake here.
**Tracked Metrics (B+):
- Activities (A): I dropped the amount of calories that I want to burn each day from 3k to 2.5k. Dalies are my lifeline each day and I am just so proud of meeting the mark without issues. This year I am doing a pyramid approach going from 60 - 90 reps. So far it is going good and I am getting quite a workout out of it. This way I am not just arbitrarily increasing the number of reps but put some structure to it.
- Sleep (C-): I dropped to (C-) for this month because I just could not get on a good rhythm. I eventually during the last week of the month begain a new sleep protocol to get in bed by 00:30. So far I am getting in but the data points are not sufficient to make any determination as yet. I hope to have better new by next month. I say I don't want to obsess but it is hard not to.
**Supplements: No Change: 2x Berberine with meals, Psyllium Husk (fiber), multi-vitamins, B-complex and Magnesium, Lipo NR, Lipomizen , Curcumin, Creatine (10mg).
**Diet: No change: Continue steady state. Salad and chicken continue to drive the bus. My focus remains - (From a previous entry: The big focus this year once again is on A1c, kidney health, prostate health, cardio health, muscle gain and weight maintenance). I think the addition of Beet Root powder to my morning coffee is paying off big time. My BP has been awesome for quite sometime now. I will continue to watch.
Biomarkers/Medical Check:
- Urology: Met with urologist (He leave in July) - back on yearly checks. Had a discussion around beta-blocker v. glaucoma; Eye doctor say I'm fine.
- Sleep: I am still getting used to my Apnea Machine, donning it on alternate nights for a portion of the night. It is coming along.
- Neurology: NTR.
- Labs: I am in the window for my next set of labs testing the efficacy of Crestor - I am starting to dread dealing with this group - honestly.
Goals:
**Spanish (A-): My streak on Duolingo (1299 Day) 9AUG2022 and Drops (1071 Days). I am keeping my streaks going, at least strickly with Duo (I have missed a few with Drops). Just a couple days ago I move to a Score of 95, so now I am just 4 scores from completing B1. I ended up spending about 2 weeks just point grabbing and not learning anything. I won the Diamond League, but I have nothing to show for it. Going forward, I will just do enough to maintain my Diamond League standing but stay in the learning zone. I also lost some time with my Chess practice as well, that will change too. Grid mentioned a new site that goes beyond vocabulary and is more context related. I think that will be good for me at this time.
**Reading/Listening: I did not do much better in February than January, although I was able to complete two books. I was hoping to get through 4 to get back on track, but that is ok, I am not going anywhere or no one is on my back.

The market have been relatively sideways over the past month. Bitcoin continues to struggle down in the Valley. The Democrate stuck to their guns and now DHS is partially unfunded. I only hope that we get through the coming months, but I am sanguine on that point. We are probably gonna have to fight it out in the streets. (currently -0.93% YTD and -4.29% over the last month). as of 3.1.2026
Socio/Political:
US: The fallout from the ICE killing continue to reverberate through the county; things have calmed down some, but we remain vigilant.
US: The Epstein case is back on front page again. Clintons testified - nothing. Justice Dept. released document without any involving Trump
US: The Greenland bullshit threat has died down.
World 1: Iran - US and Israel attacked Iran (Yesterday) - Khameni killed in initial strike. Strikes continue.
World 1: Israel-Hamas - There is supposed to be a cease fire but Israel is apparently still routinely bomb Gaza.
World 3: Ukraine-Russia war continues. Same sh*t different day. White people killing each other. No real update.
AREA 3:
DareBee
Still have not missed a day of Daily Dare - yup; not a one.
(Kept from previous foreword) - Additionally, I have added a couple layers of complexity or demand to my workout. First, I am religiously sticking to DareBee and the Daily Dare; I am also, keeping the preliminaries. Second, I have added a consecutive component - so, starting with the end of IronBorn (9 April 2017), I have worked consecutively. I intend to push for 60 straight day, then see if I can get to 90. So far I am enjoying it and my body seems to be rising to the occasion. I caught the flu a few day before the end of the last phase (around May 2017) - I worked through it and was back up in only a couple of days. It appears pushing through and forcing my body to continue working, I was able to push the flu out of my way. I am also continuing my virtual push to OKC via Benton. I am really enjoying that but I will have to pick up the mileage here in the next phase as I am running out of time. Keep leaning forward.
