Retrospective Log:
September 1-30, 2025: I am now 3043 Days (approximately: 7 Years, 9 Month – LINK) and still maintaining my workout streak.
Just to clarify (Sticky!): My workout streak is that I do something active each day. I always do my Dailies and in addition – run, walk, but usually run and walk, and depending on the day, I lift – upper body, lower body, or some type of hybrid. This is my long term program and I have been at it now for several years.
So, I am writing this entry on the 1st of October. Looking back over the last few months, I have struggled to get this entry in here, but I hope to do my best to keep it flowing as much as possible. The good thing is that I have a few other areas that I use to capture my ideas, thoughts, etc…. I definitely do so on a daily basis, so this is suppose to be a broad brush, as I recall over the pass month.
AREA 1:
Body:
**Injuries/Aches (B+): I am bit nervous to jump to an A here because that might jinx me, but I have really not suffered much over the last month. I had, and still to a lesser extent, have a few slight ache in left shoulder near neck, right wrist and the front of left elbow. My back has flared a few times, but nothing like last month. I think that I am giving my body enough rest time to heal and I am seeing or feeling good results.
**Routine (C-): I am going to leave this at C- for now, I am getting a good enough amount of physical workout at the gym but I need to do more to streamline and get more non-workout stuff done around the house. I need to and will continue to tighten up my schedule, getting rid of none priorities and zone in on the must dos.
**Physical (B+): While I had a couple of PRs this month, I decided to pull back over the past couple weeks to consolidate my gains. I started to feel a bit of a strain in the right shoulder, which then crept to the left and so I pulled back to ensure that I am not pushing myself too far too fast. My overall cardio is in a curious place. My treadmill is in a weird place. Between the belt and the motor I need a replacement, but I am not sure if I want to put additional funds in. At any rate, I am getting in good cardio to be honest. I am averaging around 3-4mi walks and at least 0.5mi.
**Tracked Metrics (A-): I continue to do quite well overall. I am getting in my workouts, eating pretty well (this can always improve). Over the last 4 weeks, as in the previous 8, I have managed to keep my numbers in the 90’s or above. My caloric burn time which continues to lag the rest of the number was 87.76% last month. I mentioned before that I think it is due to efficiency on my part, but I will continue to try and drive that up. Sleep: I have had a massive turnaround in my sleep and my body feels so much better for it. Knock on wood – the last few continue to struggle some here. I don’t feel that back about it though, I think I am understanding my body more and I just need to apply what I am learning. I have seen improvement already and I will continue to push this metric in the right direction.
**Supplements: No new changes in this area. I am checking with my PCP to get my CBC done. She has been away for some time though: 2x Berberine with meals, Psyllium Husk (fiber), multi-vitamins, B-complex and Magnesium, Lipo NR, Lipomizen, Curcumin.
**Diet: Steady state really. Lots of salad and chicken. My body is not showing any wear for it, so I will continue with this. My focus remains – (From a previous entry: The big focus this year again is on A1c, kidney health, prostate health, cardio health, muscle gain and weight maintenance). I should be getting new blood work here at the start of October, I will be looking at A1C, Kidney, Liver, prostrate and cholesterol. My last lipid numbers were : Total Cholesterol – 213 and HDL – 135.
Goals:
**Spanish (A-): My streak on Duolingo (1149 Day) 9AUG2022 and Drops (921 Days). I have completed Duolingo Level 5 (CEFR Early B1) and had worked through Section 6 Unit 6 , bu then they changed the tracker and now I am at Level 90 almost 91 (High B1). I was hoping to get to B2 by the end of the years, but the course has weave back and forth so many times, I don’t think that is going to happen. At any rate, I am still learning, so it is ok. Drops has also gone through some cool updates. It is much improved now, form my perspective. It is really working quite well as a complement to Duo. I finished up all the Simple Stories in Spanish and realize that they don’t come out as often as I thought. I was in a holding pattern for a while and then picture up a couple other apps that I am testing out. So far SSiS is hard to beat. I continue to step back from Rocket Language – just not enough time to focus right now. I will come back to it later hopefully.
**Reading/Listening: I only completed one book this past month. It was a long one – 17+hr. I then started on The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Green which I think is twice as long. I am closing in on the end of it and hope to do so soon. I still have the Power of Regret hanging out in the background. I started it several weeks ago and just haven’t gotten back to it. I will try to finish it up too.

Financials:
Markets continue to just go crazy for us. And as I write these words, today is the first day of govt. shutdown. The administration really don’t give a crap, and the folks supporting it don’t seem to either, but we will see. are not doing too bad for us. The YTD number of our portfolio has been off due to a hiccup in March. I will leave the last correct one in for formatting, however, our last month metric is correct. (currently -1.62% YTD; that is a gain of 7.8% over the last month from +3.6%.).
Socio/Political:
US: Trump and Hegseth a couple days ago called all the flag officers to Quantico, to spit BS to them. So pathetic.
US: The Epstein case continues around Trump. He is trying to get more and more troop into U.S cities.
World 1: Stuff starting to go topsy turvy in Britain. It appears they are trying to go the way of MAGA.
World 1: Israel-Hamas conflict continue. Trump and Netty just put forward a peace proposal. I’m sure it won’t last.
World 3: Ukraine-Russia war continues. Same sh*t different day. White people killing each other.

Still have not missed a day of Daily Dare – yup; not a one.
(Kept from previous foreword) – Additionally, I have added a couple layers of complexity or demand to my workout. First, I am religiously sticking to DareBee and the Daily Dare; I am also, keeping the preliminaries. Second, I have added a consecutive component – so, starting with the end of IronBorn (9 April 2017), I have worked consecutively. I intend to push for 60 straight day, then see if I can get to 90. So far I am enjoying it and my body seems to be rising to the occasion. I caught the flu a few day before the end of the last phase (around May 2017) – I worked through it and was back up in only a couple of days. It appears pushing through and forcing my body to continue working, I was able to push the flu out of my way. I am also continuing my virtual push to OKC via Benton. I am really enjoying that but I will have to pick up the mileage here in the next phase as I am running out of time. Keep leaning forward.
